BlueScope Youth Orchestra - 2018 Regional Tour Recap

Last term the BlueScope Youth Orchestra embarked on their annual tour which started at Kildare Catholic College in Wagga Wagga. Our orchestra members became instrumental music teachers for the day, teaching individual Year 7 students violin, cello, clarinet, flute, keyboard, guitar and drums, with four one-hour classes and a concert spread throughout the day. It was a fantastic experience which our orchestra members thoroughly enjoyed. They were treated to a special morning tea and lunch.

Later, after school, they joined forces with the Riverina Youth Orchestra from the Riverinia Conservatorium of Music to present a twilight concert at 6pm. This was lots of fun followed by a sumptuous dinner at Giuseppe's.

Over the weekend, performances were  held in the Temora Memorial Town Hall as guests of the Temora Shire Arts Council, and in the Yackandandah Community Hall in Victoria. On the Monday, two school concerts were held in Victoria as they had just finished school holidays. The first saw 300 students and teachers attend the Rutherglen Memorial Hall before an afternoon concert at the Beechworth Montessori School.
