Ching-Wen joined the Conservatorium staff in early 2008 and holds a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hon-Class I) degree and a Diploma of Education (Science and Music). A former student of the Wollongong Conservatorium and principal cellist of the BlueScope Steel Youth Orchestra, she has won many scholarships and prizes at local Eisteddfods for her playing.

Ching-Wen regularly performs with her trio and quartet for weddings and functions, and has taught extensively at the University of Wollongong and at schools throughout the Illawarra region.
