Janet Andrews: ChiME Co-odinator

B.Mus. Ed.(Sydney), M.CMT (Creative Music Therapy)
Registered Music Therapist (RMT)

Janet has been teaching in the Wollongong Conservatorium CME programme for over 26 years. She was coordinator of the CME programme for 7 years and took up that position again in 2008.

Janet has conducted music workshops for early childhood (EC) educators throughout NSW and has tutored primary and EC tertiary students in music education at Wollongong University, Wollongong TAFE and the Sydney Institute of EC Studies.

Janet Andrews

Janet has worked with students at the South Coast School for Children with Autism for over 10 years and in 2006 completed her Masters in Creative Music Therapy for which she received the Deans Medal for academic achievement. She will be presenting a paper, with colleague Ann Lehmann, on their work with children with autism at the World Music Therapy Congress in Buenos Aires in July 2008.

Janet has performed as a singer and percussionist and has composed and conducted for Sydney ensemble ‘Voices from the Vacant Lot’ for 21 years.

She is currently learning to dance the tango!

 
Rhiannon Bannenberg

Rhiannon is a former ChiME student who has now returned to Wollongong Conservatorium of Music to teach in the ChiME program!

She obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from the Australian Institute of Music and is currently studying for a post-graduate qualification in Composition.

 
Anna Roberts

Anna Roberts is currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of New South Wales

An experienced performer, Anna joined the staff of the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music in 2011.

 
Amanda Fox

Amanda Fox holds a Diploma in Music from the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music and is a registered nurse.

She joined the staff at the Conservatorium in 2007.

 
Sue Deans

Sue Deans has a Diploma in Music Teaching from the New South Wales Conservatorium and has an A.Mus.A in piano from the AMEB.

She worked for many years as a high-school music teacher and has been teaching Early Childhood Music at the Wollongong Conservatorium for more than 14 years.

 
Susan Webb

Susan Webb holds a Bachelor of Education from Sydney University and has taught primary and infants classes during her career.

She has been involved with vocal groups from an early age and, as an adult, has led school choirs, music groups and church music programs over many years.
