Renowned percussion group Synergy inspires audiences with the expressive diversity and beauty of its performances. The group is rightly acclaimed for its unique sound-world of marimba, vibraphone, bells and drums, coupled with virtuosity, energy and emotional depth. Synergy’s history of commissioning music is clearly reflected in this program with acclaimed works from American Steve Reich and Australian Nigel Westlake alongside new works by Fritz Hauser and artistic director Timothy Constable. The concert closes with the group’s re-creation of the joyous sounds of African tribal celebrations.
